The SANAA Studios 2006–2008, Learning from Japan: Single Story Urbanism, SANAA, 2009
The SANAA Studios documents 3 studio classes taught by Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa at the Princeton School of Architecture from 2006–2008. The book compiles essays and work written by students with photographs by Iwan Baan, who revisited the 3 sites where the studios took place.

Large image sections of the book are printed on only one side of a thin, matte coated printing sheet. When folded down and bound into the book, these sections alternate between double page spreads of full color imagery and blank pages with some of the imagery on the other side of the page showing through. Black and white sections of the book also have single page image pages with blank verso pages. The blank pages that run throughout the book reference traditional book binding techniques where single side-printed images pages were manually glued into books – as well as the theme of light and transparency that runs throughout SANAA’s practice.
The book is typeset in Univers Regular and Bold and printed at Die Keure in Belgium.
